What's New in ACT! 6.0

ACT! 6.0 for 2004 (not an upgrade for ACT! 6.0 users) includes many of the features ACT! users like you have requested, including:

  • Completely New ACT! E-mail lets you instantly create, send, and receive professional-looking, graphical HTML e-mails.
    • Works with Outlook, Outlook Express, Lotus Notes and Internet Mail that supports POP3 and SMTP protocols.
    • Create, send, and receive graphical HTML e-mail from within ACT! using the newly designed ACT! e-mail client.
    • Use the mail-merge wizard to easily create and send personalized, graphical newsletters, proposals, greetings, and more to one or thousands.
    • Use the 10 professional-looking e-mail templates for e-newsletters, special offers, thank yous, follow ups, birthday greetings, anniversary greetings, and order confirmations to start e-mail marketing today.
    • Include file attachments in e-mail merges.
    • Log a history item to each contacts' record including the subject line, message body, and/or attachment to keep track of what was sent to whom.
    • Create new contact records instantly from e-mail senders who are not already in your ACT! database.
    • Use the new Blind Carbon Copy (BCC) feature to send the same message to multiple people in your database without revealing recipients' names.

  • Enhanced Outlook integration gives those who use Microsoft Outlook much tighter integration with ACT!.
    • Access up to three ACT! Address Books from within Outlook for easy e-mailing.
    • Send e-mails from Outlook while creating histories in ACT! for all your correspondence including subject lines, message body, and/or attachments.
    • Attach sent or received messages along with attachments to any ACT! contact instantly.
    • Import Outlook's Contact folder from local folders or network folders and link Calendar items, Tasks, Notes, and Journal entries to the appropriate ACT! contact record.

  • New Active Libraries let you attach, view, and edit documents, graphics, and spreadsheets right from any contact record.
    • Attach, view, and edit relevant files directly from any ACT! contact record via the new Library Tab.
    • Use SmartMerge to map ACT! fields to Excel cells to automatically populate quotes, invoices, orders, and other Excel documents with information from the associated contact record — then print from within ACT!.
    • Activate one document for viewing on all ACT! contacts such as catalogs and price lists or associate up to 20 different documents per contact.

    • Easily track every contacts' birthday, anniversary, expiration date, or any annual event in your ACT! database - much more easily than searching your calendar for these important events.
    • Simply choose Annual Event from the Lookup menu, and you can retrieve all your contacts that have birthdays, anniversaries, or contract expirations this week, this month or during a specified date range.
